Update – 3/19/2020 (4:00pm)
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson is advising all people over the age of 60 and all those with pre-existing health conditions to remain at home, which I believe is a wise piece of advice. In an effort to love God and neighbor, we must tread thoughtfully through this very uncertain time.
This Sunday, my family and I will be at the church. Please feel free to come worship with us, if you’re so inclined, provided that you:
- Are not sick.
- Have not been in potential contact with a COVID-19 carrier within the last 10 days.
If you are deciding whether or not to join me and my family for worship, please carefully consider the above qualifications. If you are sick, please stay home in order to mitigate the spread of illness. If you believe you are especially vulnerable to illness, please stay home. If you are well, please worship the Lord with us during this especial time, a time when the Word and the prayers of the saints are most needed.
I will be live streaming the service from the church auditorium for those who decide to remain at home.
Your Under-Shepherd,
Josh S.
Update – 3/16/2020 (9:00pm)
KCMO went forward with banning gatherings larger than 10 people. However, they have made an exception for religious services. It doesn’t look like we will need to change our Wednesday or Lord’s Day schedules for now. Praise the Lord!
Due to the ever-changing nature of this situation, please stay tuned here in case there are any changes. Blessings to you all.
Update – 3/16/2020 (5:00pm)
Dear Family,
The President (POTUS) has just recommended that social gatherings be reduced to 10 people or less.
Please stay tuned to this page for more updates.
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. — Hebrews 12:22-24
Initial Update:
Dear VBC,
Please use sanctified common sense (Prov. 7:4). If you are ill or if you feel as though you are becoming ill, even if you are unsure, please stay home in order to preserve the health of your fellow members.
Stay tuned to our Facebook page or your email inbox for further updates as the situation rapidly develops.
Do not fear. Christ is Lord, and our citizenship is not of this world (Heb. 11:16).
Please keep an eye out for updates here, your emails, and/or on Facebook.
